USE OF INFOGRAPHY IN THE ENGLISH CLASS

Nestor Vidales, Fredy Munevar and Jorge Rios are three smart Graphic designers, students at Corporación Unificada CUN who created two infographies about cinema. These excellent tools were used in the English class to learn about this area and with very good results.. The first one is a printed material about the film genres. It combines images and text which makes students feel very attracted to this kind of reading. This was an excellent toolsince it provides students with easy definition and the images help them understand the ideas.

The second infography is an interactive material. It is about the processes of filmmakineg a movie.In this one the students have the oportunity to participate in the progress of the application, they can travel from one place to another to read and learn about the people who work producing a movie, and the steps they can follow to produce their own film. Students liked very much because they had the information not only comprehensible but very motivating and attractive.

My name is Lizette Mendoza. I am English Teacher at Fundación Universitaria Monserrate. I am also a student of a postgrade in Comunication Pedagogy and Interactive Media at Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas in Bogotá Colombia. With my students in the university make short movies following the processes of pre production production and post production. It is an environtment that help students to learn English in a significative way.
